Amy Rauer - Creator of Blue Stone Studios I am 36 years old and married to my husband Kurt. We have a wonderful little girl named Heidi and she is the main reason I have a business today. It started when she turned one and I was planning her party. I couldn’t find a cute little party hat without some cheap gimmick or licensed character on it. I also wanted cute banners to hang up for the festivities. There were not many choices in stores or on the internet so I decided to make them myself. I had so much fun making the pieces and people responded so well to them that the business idea just seemed to make sense. The products that I create include party hats and party flag banners, inspirational framed quotes, greeting cards, party invitations, and gift cards. I have developed holiday versions as well. My designs tend to be simple and cheery with lots of bright colors. I have managed to juggle being a stay at home mom, a freelance artist and a new business owner pretty well. Some days are very long, but the end result is rewarding. I hope people smile when they see my work and know that they have a special one of a kind piece.
